Politico reports on the wide open field for Senate after the death of Ted Kennedy (D-MA). They call it a "once-in-a-generation opportunity" given the fact that Kennedy had served in the Senate for 46 years.

Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight.com explains the more subtle reasons that it will be difficult for a Republican to win the Kennedy seat.

Former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) has skipped another fundraiser (the fourth time now) denying that she ever received an invitation. Interesting way to build up support for a Presidential run.
